YARD 2 YARD
Starting my third placement at Yard 2 Yard, I was thrown straight into creating menu designs and speaking with the clients to make sure I was including everything they wanted. This meant spending long days staring at a computer screen, which, if I’m being honest, wasn’t exactly the most exciting thing in the world. However, it was really important because the menus are one of the first things customers see, so they need to represent the restaurant properly.
Talking directly with the clients helped me understand how important communication is in design. What might seem like a good idea to me isn’t always what the client wants, so learning how to listen and adapt was a huge part of this placement. In the future, this will help me workh more confidently with clients and make sure I’m creating work that actually meets their needs.
